Diy Simple Gift Ideas and Prezzies

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you have already seen a picture of the Skittles Infused Vodka I made as a Christmas present, so today I want to let you guys know how to make your own infused vodka, as well as yummy Dried Fruit Chocolates and Chilli and Garlic Infused Cooking Oil. Those little gifts are perfect if you are looking for a nice personal hostess gift or something to give to your family and friends, or you just make it for yourself because I'm telling you those gifts are going to be so tasty you will not want to give them away!

Let's start with the Skittles Infused Vodka!
What you need:
4-5 Empty see through bottles
2 Bottles of Vodka (make sure it's not too cheap as you will taste it slightly)
4 Packs of Skittles
1 Pack of tea or coffee filters

How it works:
1)    Buying new empty bottles can be quite expensive, so I chose to buy sauce bottles (for example BBQ sauce is often stored in glass bottles) and filled the sauce in a different container to be able to fully clean out the glasses. I also removed the labels, so you won't be able to see what was in the glasses before. There practically look brand new so this is a great alternative
2)    Sort the Skittles by colour, this way you will be able to create vodka with the separate flavours and bright colours
3)    Fill the Skittles into the bottles. Each colour goes into one separate bottle.
4)    Fill up the bottles with vodka, all the way to the top
5)    Shake the bottles for a couple of minutes and you will see that the coating of the Skittles is already creating a strong colour
6)    Let the vodka sit over night, so that the Skittles can dissolve
7)    You will now notice white particles swimming on top, from the white core of the Skittles. Use the tea/coffee filters to filter the water and achieve a clear result
8)    Store the vodka in the freezer for it to be ice cold when you drink it or give it away

How to create Dried Fruit Chocolate!

What you need:
3 bars of chocolate of your choice (dark, milk or white chocolate)
1 pack of dried fruit (cranberries, mangos, peaches etc)
See through foil

How it works:

1)    Break the chocolate into small pieces and melt it in the microwave (600W for 3Mins, your microwave shouldn't be too hot!)
2)    Chop the dried fruits into small pieces
3)    Use a big flat plate and lay out the foil on top. Stir the chocolate, so it's smooth and make sure it's just warm (not boiling) and fluid
4)    Pour the chocolate onto the foil and spread it with the back of a spoon (it tastes the best if it's a rather thin layer of chocolate)
5)    Sprinkle the dried fruit on the chocolate and place the plate in the fridge
6)    Once the chocolate is hard again, pull it of the foil and simply break it into pieces
7)    Fill the chocolate into a see through bag

Tip: My favourite flavour combinations were White Chocolate with Cranberry and Milk Chocolate with Mangos

How to make Chilli and Garlic Infused Oil!

What you need:

See through empty bottle
Olive Oil
Whole chilli peppers (preferable in different colours)
Clove of garlic

How it works:

1)    Again like with the Skittles Vodka use a new empty bottle you bought or clean out a sauce bottle and remove the label
2)    Chop the different coloured chilli peppers in thin circles and fill them into the bottle
3)    Chop the garlic in rather small pieces and also fill it into the bottle
4)    Fill up the bottle with olive oil and let the oil soak up the flavours over night

Tip: You can go with just red peppers but in most supermarkets you will find small yellow and green chillis as well, which will create a really great and colourful look in the bottle
